How to set up IPTV on Apple TV
Apple TV works well, but the choice of players is narrower than on other platforms. Check this before you buy hardware for the purpose.

What this setup involves
tvOS only allows apps from the App Store, and fewer IPTV players are published there than on Android. The players that do exist are generally well built and stable. The practical consequence is simply that you should confirm which player you intend to use before committing to Apple TV as your streaming device.
You will need
- An Apple TV running a current tvOS release.
- An App Store player that accepts external playlists.
- The playlist details we send you after your order is confirmed.
Step by step
Setting up your device
- Confirm which tvOS player you intend to use, because availability on Apple TV is narrower than on other platforms.
- Install that player from the App Store on the Apple TV itself.
- Open the player and select the option to add an external playlist.
- Enter the playlist details we sent you exactly as they appear, including any username, password or URL.
- Allow the channel list and programme guide to finish loading the first time. This can take a minute or two.
- Open a channel to confirm playback, then adjust the quality setting in the player if you need to.

Things worth knowing on this device
Entering details is much easier using the Apple TV Remote app on an iPhone than with the physical remote.
Apple TV hardware handles high-bitrate streams comfortably; the limiting factor is usually the connection.

If something is wrong
Playback troubleshooting
- Restart the player application, then the streaming device itself.
- Run a speed test on the same device and network you are watching on, not on a different one.
- Use a wired connection where the device supports it, or move closer to the router.
- Lower the stream quality in your player if the picture stalls repeatedly.
- Check whether other devices in the house are downloading large files at the same time.
- Confirm that you are not exceeding the number of simultaneous connections on your plan.
- If one channel misbehaves while the rest play normally, send us the channel name so we can look at that source.
