How to set up IPTV on a Firestick
Amazon Fire TV sticks and boxes are the most common way our customers watch. Here is what the setup involves, and what to check first.

What this setup involves
A Fire TV stick plugs into a spare HDMI port and runs its own apps, which means you can add an IPTV player without changing anything about your television. The device does need a reasonable wireless signal: it is a small stick sitting behind a large metal screen, and that is the single most common cause of stuttering playback on this hardware.
You will need
- A Fire TV stick or box that is set up and signed in to an Amazon account.
- A free HDMI port and a power source for the device.
- The playlist details we send you after your order is confirmed.
- A wireless signal strong enough where the television sits.
Step by step
Setting up your device
- Connect your Fire TV stick or box to a free HDMI port and complete the Amazon setup if the device is new.
- From the Fire TV home screen, search the Amazon Appstore for a compatible IPTV player and install it.
- Open the player once so that it finishes its first-run setup.
- Enter the playlist details we sent you exactly as they appear, including any username, password or URL.
- Allow the channel list and programme guide to finish loading the first time. This can take a minute or two.
- Open a channel to confirm playback, then adjust the quality setting in the player if you need to.

Practical notes
Things worth knowing on this device
If the picture stalls only on this device but plays fine on a phone, treat it as a signal problem first.
Older Fire TV sticks have less memory. Closing other apps before watching can help noticeably.
Keep the device firmware updated through Settings, then My Fire TV.
If something is wrong
Playback troubleshooting
- Restart the player application, then the streaming device itself.
- Run a speed test on the same device and network you are watching on, not on a different one.
- Use a wired connection where the device supports it, or move closer to the router.
- Lower the stream quality in your player if the picture stalls repeatedly.
- Check whether other devices in the house are downloading large files at the same time.
- Confirm that you are not exceeding the number of simultaneous connections on your plan.
- If one channel misbehaves while the rest play normally, send us the channel name so we can look at that source.
